Customer Service of Electrolux maintained also after centralization of warehouses
Electrolux Professional, manufacturer and supplier of professional kitchen equipment, has chosen Pan Nordic Logistics (PNL) as their new logistic partner for distribution of spare parts to Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The deal is worth about 4,3 million SEK.
The deal was made in conjunction with a streamlining of Electrolux´s logistic chain. Among other things this included a centralization of the local warehouses for spare parts in northern Europe to Herborn outside Frankfurt in Germany. The Nordic warehouse was earlier situated in Ljungby in Sweden.
"Our challenge in the project was finding a solution that could guarantee a high service level for customers and technicians, without changing the process too much, to a reasonable price. PNL turned out to have a good understanding for our goals and business. They were willing to provide us a tailor-made solution," says Marco Momoli, Spare Parts Operations Manager at Electrolux in Italy.
Comprehensive Nordic distribution a demand
A reliable distribution of spare parts is of utmost importance to the customers of Electrolux Professional, as they earn their living on using the kitchen equipment. Hence, a comprehensive network that enables deliveries in big cities as well as small villages was an important prerequisite. The pallets are picked up in Germany late in the afternoon and are flown to Copenhagen or Oslo. From there, the pallets are carried by cars to Jönköping or Brøndby in Denmark, where they are split up and delivered to the final destinations. The parcels are delivered before 9 a.m., or during office hours the following day, depending on with which service the parcel is sent: CarryOn Business or PNL´s express service.
