Norwegian and Danish postal companies make acquisitions in Sweden
Pan Nordic Logistics, jointly owned by Post Denmark and Norway Post, today acquired Expressgods, a company with an annual turnover of 110 million SKr.
This deal means that Pan Nordic Logistics will have its own distribution net with 300 receiving and delivery locations. It gives the postal companies and Pan Nordic Logistics an opportunity to compete with the Swedish Post AB for business customers. After this acquisition, Pan Nordic Logistics will have 30 per cent of the business market shares for express parcel services.
Creating our own Swedish distribution net is our first step towards becoming the leading Scandinavian supplier of courier, express and parcel services, within the next two years, comments Benny Rhe Hansen, CEO, Pan Nordic Logistics.
Pan Nordic Logistics and Expressgods initiated a close collaboration in November 2001, and today Expressgods handle all parcel distribution for Pan Nordic Logistics in Sweden. The acquisition of Expressgods is very advantageous, among other things, it will give Pan Nordic Logistics a leading position on the Swedish express market and exclusive access to trains for courier services.
