PNL set up their own distribution network in Sweden:

Scandinavian upstart challenges Posten Sverige for company parcels and post order

Pan Nordic Logistics, PNL, are now setting up their own distribution network specially tailored for company customers in Sweden. PNL is owned by Norway Post and Post Denmark. The new distribution network means that the postal companies, led by PNL, can now offer Scandinavian company customers an efficient distribution system for the export and import of company parcels and post order deliveries.

Sweden is the most important export and import market for the postal companies in Norway and Denmark. In order to secure the volumes of company parcels to, from and between the Scandinavian countries, PNL, through their close cooperation with Expressgods and Box Delivery, have created one of the most efficient distribution networks for company parcels in Sweden.

- We have worked day and night to build a network with complete coverage and 300 collection and distribution points in Sweden. This means that we can now offer the same quality in our services to companies as before, says Benny Rhe Hansen, Pan Nordic Logistics CEO.

Eighteen months ago, Pan Nordic Logistics took over the handling of international parcels from the postal companies in Norway, Denmark and Sweden. Today, Pan Nordic Logistics is owned by Norway Post and Post Denmark. Up until now, PNL have been suppliers to the postal companies with responsibility for linking together door-to-door postal freight services in Scandinavia, but on 1 January 2002 PNL are launching their own services, CarryOn, which will be handled in their own collection and distribution network in Scandinavia.

- Our goal is to be the Scandinavian logistics market leader within two years, and be able to offer both our private and our company customers high-quality international and national services for courier, express and parcels, and for e-business and third party logistics. Our cooperation with Expressgods and Box Delivery is the first step towards this goal, says Benny Rhe Hansen.

PNL will be responsible, as before, for the distribution of parcels and pallets exported from Sweden. PNL will also be responsible for the distribution of international consignments to Swedish companies. Parcels sent to private individuals in Sweden can also be distributed by Pan Nordic Logistics.
